UN 13,300 & UN 13,302 Weminuche Wilderness August 27, 2011
Heading for the saddle between UN 13,300 (left) & UN 13,302 (right) in a peculiar morning light. There is no "nice" way to gain the ridge. We climbed loose talus and scree just left of center. On the way down we descended mostly scree to the right of the cliffs under the saddle.

UN 13,300 & UN 13,302 Weminuche Wilderness August 27, 2011
Approaching the crux of UN 13,300. Regaining the summit ridge on the far side of this small notch requires steep 4th class climbing.

After retracing our steps to the saddle we continue up the east ridge of UN 13,302 staying slightly left of the crest and following the path of least resistance.
UN 13,300 & UN 13,302 Weminuche Wilderness August 27, 2011
The ridge suddenly turns difficult and we carefully do a descending traverse on exposed ledges on its left side.

We regained the ridge near a small notch.

Buffalo Peak (left) is an unranked 12er that I hope to climb someday. It just looks so cool from Rock Creek! UN 13,300 is on the right.
