"The Hamster" November 26, 2011 Zion National Park
Our objective for the day is to try to climb a peak CP has coined "Red Triangle" deep in Zion National Park's backcountry. There are no known ascents of this peak. We'll attempt to gain the summit using its east ridge.

The ridge remains reasonable for quite some time and we are able to work around the difficulties.

About 1/3 of a mile from the summit a deep gash blocks further process. Game over. Dominic & I turn our sights to a nearby consolation prize: "The Hamster" (broad peak in center of photo).
