Colorado Mines Peak, Mount Flora, Mount Eva & Mount Witter

February 28, 2010

An easy hike up some of the most winter-friendly 13ers

Colorado Mines Peak's south slopes

Dwight and Dominic climbing the upper south slopes of Colorado Mines Peak. On the descent  just a few hours later more than a foot of fresh powder had accumulated here! An avalanche closed Berthoud Pass later that evening.

NE ridge of Colorado Mines Peak

The northeast ridge of Colorado Mines Peak is home to highly impressive, beautiful cornices. Metal poles remind visitors where the ground ends.
