An easy San Juan 13er located just outside Silverton
Macomber Peak, Tower Mountain, and Dome Mountain as seen from the Gary Owen Mine near Sterling Gulch.
Continuous snow in Sterling Gulch provided a highway toward the summit of Galena Mountain. The route was steep but very efficient.

The views from the summit were great - no surprise since its planted in the heart of the San Juans. Arrow and Vestal can be clearly identified (right of center).
The layer of dust in the San Juans is causing rapid melting and much of the snow surface is sun-cupped.
