A classic couloir climb with a long approach and an overnight stay at Barr Camp

Kevin and Sue climbing above the clouds. Colorado Springs was socked in all day but the weather on Pikes was great despite a very poor forecast.
The angle steepened as we approached the split in the Y. We chose to take the right branch.
A few hundred feet from the top of the couloir all of us were losing steam. Kevin and I popped some peeps for a quick boost to get us to the top.

The top of the couloir was holding a small cornice but it could be avoided on the left.
